Introduction to Metallography and Materials Preparation (IMMP) 2007 (2 days).

An introductory course designed for all those who are involved in the day to day operation of a metallographic laboratory.
Covering subject areas including: Documentation; Safety; Sectioning; Encapsulation; Traditional Techniques. This two day course will aid both the beginner and experienced technician alike.
The course includes both practical & theoretical sessions, complete with supporting documentation.
The course is held at our Coventry Headquarters, using a full range of our equipment and supported by our qualified staff.

Introduction to Microscopy and Digital Imaging 2007.

An introductory course designed for all those involved in the use of microscopes in their everyday laboratory work.
Covering a full range of microscopes and techniques found in todays laboratories, it will be of use both to the beginner and experienced microscopist.
From first priciples the delegates will be instructed in the correct operation of a range of microscopes for different applications, from macro examination to high magnification compound microscopes.
The Digital Imaging section of the course will introduce the delegate to a range of techniques available to the microscopist to record the microstructural details.
It will also apply the knowledge gained in the Microscopy section to capture image using appropriate techiniques for recording specific features, and generating a full report. Supporting documentation will also be provided.

The Preparation of Advanced Materials 2007.

A course designed either as a follow up to the MetPrep IMMP or for the more experienced Technician and Technologist.
This one day course is designed primarily to cover the selection of preparation surfaces, and abrasives associated with the preparation of an assortment of todays advanced materials.
The course is constructed to guide the delegate through the methodology of generating preparation procedures. Using both practical & theoretical sessions a range of materials will be assessed and prepared. Support notes are also provided, and where possible individual delegates material will be integrated into the course.
The course is held at our Coventry Headquarters, using a full range of our equipment and supported by our qualified staff.
